Daniel Johnston

Dan is an Electrical Trainer & Community Advocate,   After moving from South London, Dan has spent the past four years in Horam with his wife, son, and loyal dog Bentley. He is passionate about fostering a strong community and is dedicated to bringing neighbours together—whether through WhatsApp groups or advocating for improvements that help preserve Horam’s rural village charm. Dan  believes in responsible development and is keen to see speed limits lowered for a safer, more connected neighbourhood.   Dan is also an Ambassador for Huntingdon’s disease.

Andy Billings

Andy has lived in Horam for 17 years & been a Parish Councillor for 2 years.  He is very involved in producing the Horam Neighbourhood Plan, this is for the whole Parish and when approved it will be a document that developers will have to follow.   He has been a member of the Planning and Highways Committee and represented residents’ concerns by speaking at Wealden Planning Committees and at developers’ appeals.

Jennifer Howells

Jennifer moved to Horam 25 years ago when she married her husband who was a widow with a son attending Maynards Green school and the older son at Heathfield school. Sadly her husband passed away in 2019. Jennifer has worked in offices and as a community carer in quite few different settings. She is on the steering group for the Heathfield and Horam Repair Cafe. Jennifer has had a passion for nature and the wildlife in Sussex since a child and is sad at the destruction of the habitats for wildlife and bio diversity over the last few years and wants to do what she can to help prevent even more devastating loss of habitat especially in Horam and supports the neighbourhood plan and the aims of the Parish Council in working to create sites to help nature and help the people of Horam to live well.

Graham Knight

Graham has been a Parish Councillor for many years.

He tries hard to resist unwanted development and has had some success.

He oversaw the upgrading of footpaths and footways and kerbing from CIL money.

Virginia Roberts

Virginia has lived in the village since 2001, joined the Womens’ Institute that year,  and then the Parish  Council in 2007.

She has always cared about nature and the environment and has planted over 200 trees on her and her husbands land.

She does not drive, so walks a lot and does litter picking to keep Horam as pleasant as she can.

Sue Lane

Sue has lived in Horam for 18 years and has been a Parish Councillor for 8 years.

She is Chair/Co-ordinator of The Horam Neighbourhood Plan and its Steering Group and has been actively involved in its development since day one.

She feels passionately that residents should have some input into informing and determining planning applications in the Parish.

Sue is a member of the Planning and Finance Committees and has often spoken at Wealden Planning Committees in order to express residents concerns
