Temporary Road Closure – Monday 24 to Thursday 27 August – Maynards Green Road
Temporary Road Closure – Monday 24 August to Thursday 27 August
The road closure point will be between the entrance to St Mary’s School and Orchard Leigh on the Maynards Green Road.
Update on Gas Network Improvement Works: Maynards Green Road, Horam Residents are advised of a temporary road closure on Maynards Green Road as part of the ongoing gas network improvement works being carried out in the area. For everyone’s safety, traffic has been managed using temporary traffic lights while these essential upgrades to the local gas network are completed. As part of the project, engineers disconnected the gas supply to a nearby property to replace the property’s service pipe. During the work, it became apparent that an additional excavation is required on the opposite side of the road to safely reconnect the property and restore its gas supply. As excavations are now required on both sides of the carriageway, it is not possible to safely maintain traffic through the work area. To protect residents, road users and the workforce, a temporary road closure will therefore be necessary. The road closure is expected to be implemented during the afternoon of Monday 24 August and will remain in place until the works are completed. The road is anticipated to reopen on the morning of Thursday 27 August, subject to progress and weather conditions. The closure point will be located between the entrance to St Mary’s School and Orchard Leigh. We appreciate that this temporary closure may cause inconvenience and thank residents and road users for their patience while these essential works are completed. Local transport operators and emergency services have been informed, and a signed diversion route will be in place for affected traffic. Further updates will be provided should there be any significant changes to the programme of works.
